Over the past year, Sustainable Queenstown programmes helped avoid more than 24,500 single-use items through DISHrupt, while community repair initiatives diverted an estimated 503kg of waste from landfill, thanks in part to 250 volunteer hours.
Just as encouraging are the signs of lasting behaviour change. 95% of Green Drinks attendees surveyed said the events increased their sustainability knowledge, while 87% of ReFashion Show respondents said they felt motivated to change their clothing habits.
Behind the numbers is something even more encouraging: people changing habits, sharing skills and finding practical ways to reduce their impact.
