Ever wondered how people actually move around our district? Our Transport Network Monitoring Report tracks the real numbers on our roads, trails and bus routes so we can plan smarter and invest where it counts.
Cycling, walking and public transport use continue to climb, with more than 198,000 cycle trips recorded between January and March (up 25% on last year) with Lakeside Road and Gorge Road leading the way. Pedestrian counts also rose across all monitored sites.
Public transport use grew 5.7% with over 1 million bus trips and a 29% rise in ferry patronage following service improvements. These trends show strong progress towards QLDC's Climate and Biodiversity goals, supporting investment in low-carbon travel and infrastructure.
