Thank you to everyone who shared feedback on the draft 2025–2028 Climate & Biodiversity Plan. Over the month-long consultation we received 97 submissions (67 survey responses and 30 written submissions) from residents, community organisations, mana whenua, and other stakeholders.
Your feedback highlighted the importance of protecting and regenerating the natural environment, which more than half of respondents identified as the top priority. Other strong themes included transport, waste reduction, predator management, and the need for ambitious climate leadership.
This input has directly shaped the final plan, which was adopted by Council on 31 July 2025. It now includes 50 actions across seven outcome areas, supported by indicative budgets and timelines. These actions will guide how we collectively reduce emissions, restore biodiversity, and build a more resilient future for the Queenstown Lakes district.
